Style Inspiration
There are many authors I appreciate, but I don’t intend to imitate all of them. Jorge Luis Borges has a unique style that is both poetic and precise, but it can be dense and confusing; it is perfectly well-suited to short stories.
The following authors meet at least two criteria: I find them well-spoken, and I would like to imitate their styles and voice.
Matt Levine
- His voice and humor are not so over-the-top that they distract from the content or damage his credibility.
Joe Wiesenthal
- Very similar to Matt Levine, but with far less written content available.
- He used to run a blog The Stalwart, but now most of his written content is paywalled at Bloomberg.
Ken Thompson
- His precision and care for formatting and typesetting are unparalleled.
